Bathroom Renovations Cost Ipswich: Indicative Ranges
Every row comes from a single guide published by a labour-hire business, and each carries the date we reviewed it. The figures are national, with one Brisbane comparison, and none is an Ipswich price. Use them as a rough check and not a promise.
How the guide builds its numbers
It assumes a licensed builder or bathroom company runs the job, the existing room is structurally sound and prices include GST. It then sets tiers by room size and finish, from a $5,000 to $12,000 cosmetic refresh to $45,000 to $80,000 or more for a reconfigured premium bathroom.
The line-item table
The guide splits a mid-range 6 m² bathroom into strip-out, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, waterproofing, tiling labour, tiles, fixtures, screen and painting, and it says they add up to roughly $21,500 to $41,500 before margin. A quote shown as one lump sum tells you very little, so ask each business for a breakdown like this.
Margin and owner-managed work
A builder or bathroom company then adds 15 to 25 percent, according to the guide. It also gives an owner-managed example of $17,750 for a 5.5 m² main bathroom in Penrith, NSW, and says the saving came from having no builder margin, while the owners carried the scheduling. Weigh that trade-off honestly.
Per square metre, with a warning
The guide gives $3,000 to $7,000 per square metre, and says the rate climbs as the room shrinks. It cites an ensuite at about $4,500 per m² against a large 10 m² bathroom at $3,500. Brisbane's budget main bathroom range is shown for comparison, and Ipswich may differ.
What a price should include
Ask whether the figure covers strip-out, rubbish removal, waterproofing, tiling, fixtures, the screen, painting and making good. Ask what it assumes about the floor and walls, and how a surprise would be priced.
Contracts and payments
The QBCC publishes pages on contract types, which depend on the value of the job. Read the one that matches your quote, ask for payments tied to finished stages and keep every variation in writing.
