A church that did not survive
A Primitive Methodist church opened at 382 Redbank Plains Road on 26 December 1875. Fires, suspected arson, damaged it in April 2011 and gutted it in May 2011, and in October 2013 the site sold for $300,000. By 2015 no building stood there. Redbank Plains has therefore been settled for a long time, even though most of its houses are recent.
Town Square and the library
Town Square Redbank Plains, on the corner of Redbank Plains Road South and East, has five major retailers and 43 small shops and offices. The Ipswich City Council runs the Redbank Plains Library in Moreton Avenue, which opened in 1985 and was refurbished in 2010. Two motorways, the Ipswich and the Centenary, are close. Those matter for delivery times.
